Maintenance Plan

Maintenance Plan

Preventive maintenance that may or may not recur over time can be entered into SAP via a Maintenance Plan. If a certain piece of equipment or functional location is to be visually inspected and maintained annually for a period of 10 years, it is unwise to enter 10 separate maintenance work orders into SAP. Instead, a Maintenance Plan can be created. This indicates exactly when Work Orders should be automatically generated per Technical Object or work to be performed. This way, the system is not cluttered with Work Orders that only need to be executed in 10 years' time. An advantage of a Maintenance Plan is that all underlying services, materials or tools are also automatically requested or inserted.
