Measuring Points and Counters
Measurement points in SAP describe the physical locations where a condition is described, for example temperature, operating hours or pressure in a boiler. The measuring points can only be numeric values and are located on Technical Objects such as Equipment or Functional Locations.
A type of Measuring Point that involves continuous measurement is called a counter in SAP. Counter readings are recorded at certain intervals. Examples are power consumption or kilometre readings.
